Elon Musk, President Trump’s former “buddy,” added fuel to the fire with a post on X right after the Congress approved the tax-cut and spending bill proposed by Trump.
The Tesla founder opposed the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ from the start.
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote when the bill was proposed. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

Trump took to Truth Social to suggest that Musk’s criticism of his government’s agenda—and the bill specifically—results from its plan to eliminate the electric vehicle mandate.
“Elon may get more [subsidies] than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,” Trump wrote. “No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.”

Musk, who spent millions on Trump’s presidential campaign and served as the head of DOGE under Trump’s administration, caught everyone off guard when he suggested starting a third political party, the “America Party.”
On Saturday, Musk posted on X that the “America Party” has formed after polling his followers on X.
“Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system! Should we create the America Party?”
Following the voting, Musk posted, “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
