Days after fairytale wedding to husband Jeremy Scheuch, Danielle Colby, star of American Pickers, shared devastating news on her Instagram.
Jeremy’s father, whom she referred to as Papa John, passed away.
The “Queen of Rust” tied the knot with longtime partner Jeremy in Puerto Rico. She wore a bright blue wedding dress with a flowing tail, while her hubby was dressed in a bright blue wedding dress with a flowing tail, The Sun reported.
Jeremy announced the upcoming wedding, that took place earlier this year, with a sweet post captioned: “I get to marry my best friend this month,” along a photo of the two. Danielle was quick to comment under the photo which showed her resting her head on Jeremy’s shoulder, writing: “No, I get to marry MY best friend this month.”
Danielle also made a post about her then-future husband, thanking him for being “her anchor.”
Their wedding was a stunning event, but mere days after saying “I do,” the family suffered the loss of Jeremy’s dad.
Danielle, who was heartbroken by the tragic passing of her father-in-law, posted a heartfelt tribute to him on the social media.
“Papa John…. You spent your life advocating and creating miracles for the most vulnerable children in your community.
“The first time I ever met you was in a an airplane hanger that you and your elves had turned into the north pole to make a dream come true for a little girl who was dying of cancer. You gave her hope and peace and excitement. Just like you gave us.”
“You have always welcomed me with open arms, held faith in me when I did not I hold that faith in myself, you saw the goodness in me even when those around you may have doubted it. You held me gently in your heart and allowed me to open up to you,” she continued.
“As we all know, that takes me some time. You traveled thousands of miles many times to come and be with us and opened your doors when we needed you to sprinkle your magic around us as we were going through hard times,” the American Pickers star continued.
She spoke of all the beautiful memories they shared together and how he “brought a new understanding of the special occasions into my life.”
Under the post shared by Jeremy, in which he celebrated his late father’s life, Danielle wrote how grateful she is to him for bringing his father, Papa John, into their lives.
We are so very sorry for this loss.
